Just a Facade

Canterbury, UK. 2005.

Okay, so I know this photo, or this kind of photo, might not be every one's cup of tea. BUT, browsing through my files it definitely caught my eye as not only a lost little gem, but a photo that is somewhat typical of a certain theme of mine. I tend to be drawn to facades of houses and buildings, windows and doors. On this day, the light and shadow was great, bringing to life a scene that at another time of day might have been invisible to me. I like the odd glass reflection on the pavement. I also like how the strong shadow makes the wire at the upper left side stand out and draw your eye to that mysterious looking black bit, just sneaking out of the photo. And I LOVE the color palette, how there are large blocks of flat colors... something that I'm a real sucker for (see my painter from an earlier post). I'll be interested to see how this strikes anyone else.
