Neeep!!

I've managed to put my first original art listing on etsy!

The photos aren't all that (kind of ridiculous considering I'm a photog-er, but never mind). I think I might actually be shaking a little. Kind of a big step, but seemed like the next logical one. That, and I REALLY enjoyed doing the painting yesterday and look forward to doing more. It felt right, so that's that. Hopefully everyone else will love what I produce, not mock me for switching things about in my shop (and there will be more added to the pot I'm sure as I'm thinking about listing some spare merino wool roving I have, and I might even do a bit more felting). I think the name of the game is this: if it stops me, it's no good. If I judge myself too harshly and overthink every creative step: it's no good. So if I feel like doing ten different things any given week and it looks like I have a confused shop, so be it. I figure that's better than NOT doing anything because I'm worrying about my shop's look or coherency, or whether each little thing will 'come out right'. Things can certainly be adjusted later... and for the mere 20 cent fee, why not?

New Listing! Greenwich Angels

Listed Greenwich Angels at my shop today. Have a look!

Fumbling through trials and tribulations of printing and I think I'm overdosing. I'm so eager to get to a decent level of saleable stock! Thing is, until people start buying it's a lot of guesswork as to what's saleable. Hopefully soon...

Hooray for days off!!

I have five days of from my day job starting today, and although I have some prior engagements (fun ones at least!), it will certainly give me some time to shape up some more photos to list on Etsy. Going to list the full size OH BABY now, but I'm planning on getting some of the photos which rated well with my Facebook Photo Feedback Project listed before long. I'm hoping that more people will start following this blog and my BBE Facebook page so I can meet some of these lovely people hovering around the shop, get some feedback, and become a more active part of the amazing crafty network out there!

Yesterday SUCCULENTS was listed on the Etsy Treasury Flower Garden by Silver Bloom Jewellery. Thank you Leanne!

In an unrelated note, my Invisible Man (also know as they other half) has suggested I start listing things that catch my eye and get me excited for one creative reason or another. I am quite the fan of the printed page and am a buyer by day, so a lot of these things might be books that have made me light up for one reason or another. However, I plan on spending a lot of free time now browsing (and fingers crossed once I get a bit of extra money coming my way) buying on Etsy so will feature anything that catches my eye from there as well!

I've bought three pairs of lovely earrings from
LuzDesigns on Etsy including the cute danglies shown here: I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival! Have a look at her shop. She has all sorts of cute designs and loads in stock to choose from.

OH BABY!

New photo OH BABY! has made it to the shop today. The one listed is a 5x5 square crop of the above, but obviously it's available in it's entirety as well. It's a favourite of my dear friend Elise, whom I owe a free print for her thoughtful and constant support of my creative endeavors. In other words, I owe her more than a print! Our friendship was born through our striving for more creativity, where work and play meet, where there is no distinction, and certainly no concrete ceiling. A valuable friend indeed. Thank you Elise! Now stop reading and go make something! Her Etsy shop is called Zippypops which is sadly empty at the moment, but do keep an eye on her. Multi-talented to say the least! This is Lydia, the stunningly gorgeous and quality dolly she sent me. Lydia gives me the evils when I'm procrastinating the good stuff for no good reason.

Now for something a bit different...

I've just added two new prints to the shop. Pretty much just trying to stretch my legs a little and stay active!

HELLO BUG in 5x5 and 8x8:

and MADONNA DOOR in 5x5 and 8x10:

A big THANK YOU to Erin MacMahon (eri059) on Etsy for including SUCCULENTS in another Treasury called Singing the Blues! The support I've gotten so far has been simply amazing.

In case someone out there still doesn't know what an Etsy Treasury is, the site has this to say:

"Treasury is Etsy's ever-changing, member-curated shopping gallery.Create and share lists of items. Beautiful, diverse lists may be featured on Etsy's home page."

Basically someone singles out a list of favorite items to feature in a 'gallery' with a certain theme of their choice. SUCCULENTS seems to have been included for two primary reasons: the vibrant blues and purples in the image, and the fact that my shop is new and 'undiscovered' as of yet. I hope the undiscovered bit changes very soon!

HOW COOL IS ETSY??

Well let me tell you... VERY COOL! I've only been 'active' since about 10:30 last night and today, waiting for me when I got home from work were messages to let me know 'Succulents' has been chosen for TWO fabulous treasuries and will be featured in a blog tomorrow!

The first is a Treasury called Lovely by Terbearco where I've been chosen for the purples and blues of the SUCCULENTS print. The next is Fresh and Fine by ShelleAnne where she is encouraging people to "Pounce on these undiscovered finds!" Yes please! POUNCE AWAY!

AND (as if that wasn't ego-boost enough!), Happyment is kind enough to feature 'Succulents' in the weekly "Window Shopping on Etsy" series on her blog tomorrow! I can't wait to see it!

WOW! I feel like the Etsy community has just reached out and given me a big bear hug!

There are a LOT of exclamation points in this post. They are ALL warranted. I simply can't get this silly grin off my face :D
