Dan went to NYC a few months ago for his birthday and brought me back this lovely little bird as a gift. Cardinals are the most exotic-looking birds I remember seeing growing up, and they don't exist over here. I've just managed to clean up my office finally, and this little guy has a prominent new spot by the window. If it moves at all (and to my delight I find that a breeze coming in through the window triggers it occasionally) it sings. You can hear what it sounds like through a link on this page. Okay, so he's a little bit pink and not red, and the shadow across his eye makes it look like he might actually have a realistic black mask (which he doesn't) ... and maybe he's kind of cheesy, but GOOD cheesy and I love him, so there.

A Cardinal Gift
Dan went to NYC a few months ago for his birthday and brought me back this lovely little bird as a gift. Cardinals are the most exotic-looking birds I remember seeing growing up, and they don't exist over here. I've just managed to clean up my office finally, and this little guy has a prominent new spot by the window.
